I was out in my studio tonight throwing bowls for the Community Bowl Project and thinking what a great event this is and how it raises so much money for the Food Bank. Artists like myself hand make the clay bowls and bisque fire them. Then the people in our community volunteer to glaze the bowls and they are fired again and sold for $10 each at a local event. All of the money raised goes to our local food bank.
Michele Stay is the organizer of this much loved event and she is so passionate about it. She is good at spreading the work around so that many people in our community give just a little bit of their time to make this happen. I'm glad to be a part of it.
November 25th and 26th you can purchase already glazed bowls and you can also decorate the bisque fired bowls for another sale. Michele will have her booth set up at the Community Center in uptown Port Townsend During the Holiday Art Fair. What better way to spend your time on Black Friday then to paint bowls for the Community Bowl Project.
